Radim Špaček

Worked as an assistant director for foreign productions (Swing Kids, Catherine Courage, Il Giovanni Mussolini) before he was admitted to the directing department at FAMU in Prague. Suspended his studies after the first year to leave for Sarajevo, where his first feature was born. Young Men Discovering the World (Mladí muži poznávají svět – 1995) was awarded with the International Film Club Association Award and the Ecumenical Jury Award at Karlovy Vary IFF 1996. He spent 6 months on an intership in Berlin after he graduated from FAMU in 1999. Shot several documentaries, TV programmes and series (Etiketa 2004; Letiště “The Airport” 2008; Přešlapy “Oversteps” 2009) for both television and theatres. His last feature film Pouta (Walking Too Fast) was awarded with 5 Czech Film Awards, 5 Czech Film Critics Awards, part. at Pusan IFF, Warsaw Film Festival. His next feature Places (Místa, 2014) is currently in production with Bionaut Films.
